Mobile Dentistry For Elderly Parents
I recently took my ageing parents for dental care. If I knew about a mobile dentist service, it would have made my life, and their lives, so much easier. People who are frail, and that describes both my parents, can find it really hard leaving their comfort zone. Apart from the emotional aspect, there is a really difficult physical aspect. Both my parents struggle to walk and my dad is in fact in a wheelchair. They both stay in a frail care facility which is excellent and who have only just started engaging the use of a mobile dentist. I am not sure why they did not do this before, although I think it is because there never used to be a mobile dentist in their area, but now mobile dental vans are popping up everywhere, which is a great thing. Mobile dentists are just like dentists in clinics, they must be licensed and certified to practice. A mobile dentist has all their certification on show, in the van, just like in a practice.
Choosing a mobile dentist
To be honest you are not that spoiled for choice finding a mobile dental clinic so it is not hard to choose a mobile dentist. Although I said they are popping up all over the place, they are still fairly rare. Mobile dentists do, like our new mobile dentist, pay visits to old aged homes and care facilities, which is fantastic, and generally the administrative staff at the old aged home or care facility set up the appointments. For me, the pressure of taking my ageing parents to the dentist is now a thing of the past and I am delighted about this and so are my parents. A mobile dental service has taken the pressure off all of us. Find a mobile dentist in your area.
