The trend of pursuing law as a career has gained very much popularity in the last few years. Students are now stepping away from the typical mindset of going for engineering and medicine courses. During this programme, a student gets to study two streams LLB and also BA, BTech or BSc.

To get admission in the 5 year law degree in India, an aspirant has to first appear in entrance exams like CLAT, AILET, SET etc. the eligibility criteria for appearing in these exams is a minimum of 45 percent marks in the aggregate in the qualifying exam. The overall course is divided into 10 semesters during which a student has to complete a mandatory 20-week internship in any institution or organizations like NGO, legal regulatory authority, market institutions, law firms, legal functionaries or any other body approved by the college.

This is an interdisciplinary course which offers many elective courses in the third year for example disciplines like management and social science. During the first year, a student learns how to critically read the case and other legal material and resolve issues that involve the law. The text in the syllabus is specially chosen to build up a strong foundation for sustained studies of legislative history.

Law as a career requires you to have lots of patience and logical skills. You must be very hardworking and dedicated in order to become a successful lawyer. A lawyer must possess great communication skills and very critical analysis ability. After your graduation, you can either practice as an advocate in a law court or you can also work with corporate firms. Government services.

You can also apply for various government posts like a legal advisor in the department of legal affairs and legislative councils in the legislative department. You can also be recirculated as a commissioned officer in the legal sectors of the Indian armed forces for the courts that are conducted in there for the court-martial of error service personnel as per the law.
